[18:28:21] <johnstep> Greetings. I am new to XMPP. One thing that seems odd is the inclusion of 'from' and 'to' attributes in stanzas where one or both are implicit based on the connection. For example, it seems best to simply leave both off for a 'jabber:iq:roster' 'iq' stanza.
[18:29:53] <johnstep> Another example is when sending a 'chat' 'message' stanza; the 'from' attribute is implied by the connection. Are there scenarios in which it makes sense (or is even authorized) to use a different 'from' attribute value, other than the connection-implied one?
