[22:28:08] <darkrain_> Your client could not advertise the required PEP caps, so that you don't receive implicit notifications, and then you could explicitly subscribe to that buddy's PEP nodes. Though support for full pubsub-ey features on PEP is sometimes spottier than I'd like

[22:34:40] <markus-kohlhase> with older ejabberd versions there are no problems because the messages were not filtered but with 2.1.8 the CAPS module works correctly so you are forced to use CAPS in order to receive PEP messages :(
