Due to the ease the higher positions are thinking about using skype. I hate skype :-) So I was looking for an alternative, found xmpp and althought I searched for a while, I'de like to hear any experienced views: Is, for example, SIP Communicator an advisable software also for conference calls and in generall usage?

[00:37:22] <fabian.noss@gmail.com> Yes, and thats for example one of the points. I read, that gaijim supports all those things we need, but downloaded and installed nearly everything is not supported on Windows targets :-)

[00:38:13] <HedgeMage> I know that psi is popular and cross-platform -- I don't know if it's any different on Win than Linux, though.
