[00:05:37] <MattJ> People first started complaining a week ago, but it seems the number of people affected increased today (or they all only just realised something was wrong)

[00:06:42] <david> because yeah, as of today I have 100% failure on outbound messages to everyone on gmail or a google apps domain
[00:06:49] <david> but.. I do get inbound packets sometimes

[00:08:30] <david> so it might be in particular some cog in the distributed asynchronous state machine that is dialback
[00:08:56] <david> it appears the timeout is on the client side
[00:09:17] <david> and I shut down the server and tried dialback manually earlier (netcat and telnet) and it worked fine with my fingers.

[00:09:31] <MattJ> I think all the reports I've seen so far have been ejabberd, except for one Prosody user a few days ago... he was getting an <internal-server-error/> stream error from Google

[00:09:59] <david> that might just be google talk. it is pretty flakey at times :-/
[00:10:23] <david> thats the reason i run my own server. but I’m sorta surprised today at the volume of people who are running on google apps :)
