[08:12:21] <Guus> Hi guys.
[08:12:54] <Guus> foo/@bar.blah/yadda <-- valid JID (no node, domain: foo, resource bar.blah/yadda ) ?
[08:13:00] * alkino left the chat.
[08:13:50] <Guus> someone submitted a bug report that used a similar JID, but confusingly put together as "node/@domain.com/resource"
[08:14:08] <Kev> Yes, valid JId.
[08:14:10] <Guus> ah, resource in my earlier example should start with an @
[08:14:19] <Kev> (Without checking, of course)
[08:14:20] <Guus> that's what I thought. thanks
[08:15:13] <Guus> slashes in resource identifiers are ok too, right?
[08:15:24] <Guus> foo//@bar
[08:15:27] <Kev> Yes, but I've not checked.
[08:15:46] <Kev> You can check to be sure :)
[08:18:29] <Guus> I'm as likely to misinterpret that specification as you are to assume wrong :)
[08:18:48] <Kev> s/assume/remember/
[08:19:03] <Kev> I'm not guessing, I just might mis-remember.
[08:19:05] <Guus> even 'better' :)
[08:19:25] <Guus> is there a list somewhere that simply has a lot of valid and invalid JIDs?
[08:19:42] <Guus> that'd be handy for cross-implementation unit testing

[18:04:21] <Zash> What would happen if you were to show muc rooms from multiple muc hosts somewhere?
[18:04:37] <Kev> ?
[18:05:14] <Zash> Say you have 2 or more xmpp domains
[18:05:45] <Zash> example.com, .org and .net
[18:05:55] <Kev> Inspired choices. With you so far.
[18:06:58] <Zash> Official people have accouns @ .com, and .net gives out accounts to anyone.
[18:07:23] <Zash> and some other sub-faction has @ .org
[18:10:17] <Zash> Currently, it adds muc.example.com to the disco#items of e.net, so it's easy do discover. But you might want to separate official
rooms from random community rooms, and similar for .org
[18:10:37] <Zash> without making harder to discover
[18:11:40] <Kev> So, what's the problem with having muc.example.com in the #items of .net?
[18:11:50] <Kev> That it's not easy to see that they're official rooms?
[18:13:54] <Zash> If there's only one muc host, and the other hosts point at that, it's easy to discover. Which is great.
[18:14:31] <Kev> I was thinking you'd have multiple MUC hosts, and have them all in #items for all.
[18:15:02] * Tobias joined the chat.
[18:15:19] <Zash> I'm unsure of what Pidgin would do then
[18:15:28] <Kev> I know what the best client would do :D
[18:16:31] * bear joined the chat.
[18:16:53] <johnny> hah.. best.. lol
[18:16:58] <johnny> it's nice kev.. but not the b est..
[18:18:01] <Zash> And Empathy doesn't seem to have a disco browser of any kind
[18:18:09] <Zash> And only lists local rooms :/
[18:18:35] <Kev> johnny: There was a tongue in a cheek there somewhere.
[18:18:50] <Kev> Zash: Swift doesn't have a disco browser per se, but it will discover other hosts.
[18:18:55] <Kev> +MUC
[18:19:02] <johnny> sure, but still.. you're suspect :)
[18:19:27] <Zash> Kev: I know, that's awesome
[18:29:18] <Zash> Anyways, I wonderd if muc.example.* listing rooms from all 3 services would make sence
[18:29:58] <Kev> That seems to be the right thing to do, to me.

[18:43:07] <Zash> woot, xmpp4moz?
[18:44:14] * Lance Stout joined the chat.
[18:58:47] <Florob> Zash, what about it?
[18:59:32] <Zash> It says it's not supported by my version of firefox :(

[19:01:20] * teo1 joined the chat.
[19:02:27] <johnny> because it's too old? or too new?
[19:02:45] <johnny> your firefox*
[19:03:02] <Zash> Because Ubuntu pushed newer Firefox all over the place
[19:03:15] <johnny> you're on the beta?
[19:03:24] <Zash> No, 3.6.10
[19:03:34] <johnny> is xmpp4moz actively developed then?
[19:03:37] <johnny> sounds like not
[19:03:46] <johnny> if it doesn't work with 3.6 by now, i doubt it's all that active
[19:03:59] <Zash> version had 2009 in it
[19:04:05] <johnny> yeah.. exactly..
[19:04:17] <johnny> might wanna check the repo to see if anybody is really doing anything with it
[19:04:21] <Zash> Similar with the gnome keyring integration :(
[19:04:27] <johnny> ah.. sadness
[19:04:52] <johnny> thing is.. i'd still want firefox sync to work with that
[19:05:19] <johnny> 2 way integration betwene firefox and gnome-keyring ...
